Kiyo is a female school student in Saga Prefecture, Japan. She admires nurses and wants to be helpful to her nation. Kiyo decides to become a war nurse. Kiyo persuades Army Surgeon Hideyo to treat Son and he does so in secret. Lieutenant Colonel Kisuke soon discovers about the treatment.
