Marquita McSwain

Biography

Marquita McSwain is from Milwaukee, WI. She attended Jackson State University where she majored in communication. She continued her educational pursuits at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee where she studied music, film production, theater and business. In the early years of her musical career she opened for several celebrity artist. She also produced, performed and headlined some of the biggest talent showcases in the Midwest. Marquita has been in the entertainment and music industry for over 15 years. Her movie credits include "The In-law Gang", "Steppin Into Love", "Moonlight Soul" and "Masters". Her TV credits are Bet's "American Soul", "The Goat Court" / Turner Sports and "Boxed In 1 and 2/ Maverick Entertainment. In 2015 she appeared in the hit stage play "A Change Gon Come' The Sam Cooke Story". Marquita is also an astute martial artist, boxer and athlete. She is also developing several theatrical projects which will allow her to use her songwriting/ scoring as well as her theatrical and music producing talents. In 2022 Marquita completed principal photography in the supporting role of Kayla in the movie entitled "Life Isn't Fair" written, directed and produced by Darrell Lawrence starring Sean Blakemore and Jekalyn Carr. In July 2024 Marquita completed principal photography in the starring role as Lisa Gray a devoted wife in the crime thriller "Blowback" written produced and directed by Bryan Thompson for Maverick Entertainment.
