Kevin Burke is an American historian, journalist, and documentary film producer. He graduated from Harvard College in 1998 and from Harvard Law School in 2003. He received his master’s degree in History and Ph.D. in the History of American Civilization from Harvard in 2004 and 2006, respectively. He acted as a producer for PBS television series Finding Your Roots (2012), The Black Church (2021), and Reconstruction: America after the Civil War (2019), and senior historical advisor for Black America since MLK: And Still I Rise (2016) and Africa's Great Civilizations (2017). He is the co-author, with Henry Louis Gates Jr., of And Still I Rise: Black America since MLK (2015). Burke is the director of research at the Hutchins Center for African & African American Research at Harvard University. He is host and producer of the podcast series Your Hometown.
