Karen Bartke is a Scottish actress and voice over artist, based in Glasgow. She is best known for her role as Sgt Karen Ann Miller in Scot Squad, a mockumentary produced by the Comedy Unit about the new unified Scottish police force. The original pilot was well received and BBC Scotland commissioned a series to begin production in 2014. Series 2 was aired in 2015 and included a Hogmanay special of short sketches aired throughout the night on 31st December. Series 3 of Scot Squad began with a Christmas special, with the remaining episodes airing in January and February 2017. Karen also appeared as a contributor in "Planet Hogmanay" alongside her Scot Squad co-star, Darren Connell. She has also appeared in Fakers for Aficionado Films; in a series of comedy sponsorship idents for the ITV talent search show Superstar and in Episode 1 of The Kronicles of Kirk, a series of Comedy Blaps for Channel 4 directed by Noddy Davidson, produced by the Comedy Unit and starring James Kirk. Karen has featured in an impressive array of short films including In the Snack Bar, The Ambitious Potato, Stramash, Goldfish and Twelve, all of which were filmed in Scotland, and also appeared as Sadie Carter in Monarch of the Glen. Karen has also provided voice overs for several commercials including a series of TV adverts for Silverburn shopping centre along with numerous local radio and TV commercials.
