Jurgen Ureña is a graduate of the Film and TV School of Veritas University (Costa Rica) and has a Master's Degree in Creative Documentary from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. His short films have been screened at the Cannes, Washington, Hamburg and Cartagena film festivals, among others. His first feature film, Muñecas rusas (2014), received the Best Director Award at the Ícaro Central American Film Festival.
