Julien Gaertner is a historian, documentary filmmaker, and researcher. After teaching at the University of Montreal, he lectured at the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris on the Méditerranée campus. In 2010, he defended a thesis on "The Image of the "Arab" in French Cinema from 1970 to the Present Day." His research interests include the history of immigration, the history of representations, and the history of cinema.
