Brazilian filmmaker João Victor Montuori was born in São Paulo, Brazil. In 2023, he was the only latin-american selected for the IFA Masterclass in Film Directing with Ruben Östlund, where he wrote, directed and edited I Want, I Can't, I Won't. In the next year, 2024, he returned for the Masterclass, now with Andrey Zvyagintsev as a teacher. Months later, was part of the Nouvelle Bug Vol. 3, hosted by Lago Film Fest.
