He completed his secondary school studies at the Vörösmarty Mihály High School . In 1957, he graduated from the Academy of Theater and Film Arts , where he was Sándor Sára's classmate. Between 1957 and 1967, he was the director of MAFILM . Between 1959 and 1963, he worked in the Balázs Béla Studio , where he was a founding member.
