Just a week after his fourteenth birthday, Gabriel—home alone and completely unpressured by friends or relatives—watched his first horror film without getting scared. That opened his eyes to the tremendous possibilities of filmmaking and storytelling. He fell in love with the genre instantly. At fifteen, he was accepted into film school, where he began refining his voice as a filmmaker and deepening his commitment to the craft.
