Dimitris Moutsiakas was born in 1986 and studied at the Lykourgos Stavrakos Film School. With his first film, Who is Santa Claus? (2011), he competed in the national and international sections of DISFF. The film also participated in international festivals around the world and won the Odysseus Award for Best Short Film at LGFF and the Silver Reel Award at the Lucerne Film Festival. In 2020, he shot his second short film, Terma, which also competed at DISFF, the Athens International Film Festival and other festivals abroad. His latest work, Gekas, won three awards at the 47th DISFF for Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography and the Best Short Film Award in the national competition. Since 2013 he has been working as an assistant director in advertising and cinema.
