Christopher Grant Harvey is a writer & director born in Johannesburg, South Africa. At the age of 16, he began his film career in the back garden, making short films with friends. These backyard projects showcased a strong knack for kinetic cinematography and inventive editing techniques to make the most of sparse production values. The early 2000's digital revolution allowed many filmmakers to shoot on miniDV tape. Despite the lack of visual fidelity compared to 35mm or even 16mm film, miniDV enabled many weekend "backyard" projects to get off the ground cheaply.
