Carlton Daniel Jr. is a writer-director born in Cleveland, OH. Navigating sexuality, horror, and queer romance, Carlton's storytelling is grounded in the mundane and extraordinary experiences of Black Americans. He earned his MFA in Film and Dramatic Writing from Syracuse University. Carlton's award-winning directorial debut, MONOGAMISH (2017), screened at over 20 festivals internationally, premiering at Outfest LA. Carlton's recent short, HOMEGOING (2021), screened at the American Black Film Festival, Atlanta Film Festival, Palm Springs ShortFest, and Miami Film Festival. Carlton is developing a feature-length version of HOMEGOING, which was selected for the Outfest Screenwriting Lab (2020), and recognized as a finalist at Tribeca's Untold Stories (2021).
