Arie Koomen is grafisch vormgever. Samen met Silvester Zwaneveld speelde hij bij het stand-up comedygezelschap de Comedy Explosion tot ze bedachten om samen te spelen. Op Cameretten werden ze in 1996 tweede met naar eigen zeggen ter plekke verzonnen materiaal. Af en toe verruilen ze het theater voor andere podia, zoals het popfestival Lowlands. Solo is Arie te zien bij het improvisatieprogramma De Lama's (2004-2006), het comedyprogramma Tequila (2006) en ook bij Doe Maar Normaal, de Nederlandse versie van 'Never mind the buzzcocks'.
