Andrew's forays into acting have been very part-time and a little sporadic. Perhaps in response to a parallel interest from his two young children, he began dipping his toe into the local Amateur Dramatic group's productions, initially falling prey to the peculiar lure of the Pantomime genie. He seemed to slot in quite easily to 2 or 3 farces, making a small mark as the Waiter in Ayckbourn's Between Mouthfuls. With the encouragement and efforts of professionally-trained individuals whose talents truly benefit the local drama group, he has more recently risen to the challenge of some darker one act plays. In the last three years, there have been stretching roles in the disturbing Trio; as the war-damaged Hughie in an original play based on events near the end of Unity Mitford's life; and in Spring 2019 as Eddie in When A Man Knows, by Alan Richardson. These performances gained him the dizzy heights of Stand-out Performance and Best Moment of Theatre silver-ware in the Lorn & North Lorn Drama Festivals.
