Alexandre Royal Pelletier, also known as Alex Royal, is a French-Canadian filmmaker and writer. He grew up in Montreal and studied in school at École Eulalie-Durocher while studying cinema at the College de Rosemont. He's best known for his debut short film, Balance, which he filmed in the same bathroom location as Ari Aster's Beau is Afraid, whom he got to meet after filming was completed. He currently works as an assistant mechanic at MELS, a high school film teacher in his hometown, and a movie critic and interviewer for Horreur Québec, while having more short films, feature films, and documentaries in production and has met many fellow filmmakers and actors such as Mike Flanagan, Vincenzo Natali, and Pascal Plante.
