Paul, a biochemist with a quiet life, meets a very young hitchhiker named Hélène. She embodies bohemianism, love, and fantasy... everything he lost after marrying Claire, a beautiful, sophisticated, bourgeois blonde, thirteen years earlier. Paul and Hélène become lovers.
