Pasquale Lojacono moves into a large flat with his wife Maria following a special agreement with the owner: in exchange for free accommodation, Pasquale must dispel rumours that the house is haunted by ghosts. As time goes by, however, it turns out that the source of his fortune is a ghost who, having become Maria's lover, wants to silence him and plan an escape with her.
