Love is born between Anna, daughter of Alfonso, a wealthy farmer, and Luigi, a drum player in a musical band, who live in two different villages-Square on the Piano and Casalieta. This feeling is thwarted by her father, who would like to give her in marriage to Nicolino, a law student and son of a landowner, who has seen the girl only once and was struck by her beauty.
