Kazys Jonaitis, nicknamed the "Road Maniac," is considered the most notorious and perhaps the most vicious serial killer in Lithuania. The court has established that he would pick up girls for a ride, knock them unconscious with blows to the head, and rape them. The bodies of three girls were found, although it cannot be ruled out that there may have been more. Only one girl managed to escape from the maniac who was rampaging on the Vilnius-Kaunas road.
