The elderly photographer Joseph Ernst has spent his entire life in the same apartment building. Now it is to be demolished to make way for a new building for high earners – for him, it's the end of the world. Since the death of his wife, Joseph has lived a secluded life in the house where he has spent his entire life; his only companion is his dog Leika.
